Our Story
Rex & Bandon began with two remarkable cats who changed my life forever.
Rex was the first. While visiting Petco to buy food for my first cat, I saw him through the adoption window, where Kitten Rescue cared for cats waiting for their forever homes. I soon became a volunteer, and before long, I adopted Rex and brought him home. He was the gentlest soul I have ever known, and through him I discovered a kind of unconditional love that changed my life.
A couple of years later, another cat quietly appeared outside the back door of my apartment. She returned every evening until one day I finally opened the door. She had been abandoned, but she never gave up on finding a home. She became part of my family, and I named her Bandon as a gentle reminder of the word abandoned and of the second chances every animal deserves.
Together, Rex and Bandon inspired more than a business—they inspired a way of living.
Today, Rex & Bandon is a small handmade lifestyle studio based in Houston, Texas, creating thoughtfully designed accessories for pets and the people who love them.
Every piece is made in small batches using carefully selected fabrics that I personally love working with—from beautiful Rifle Paper Co. cotton florals to authentic Japanese cotton and linen prints. Each fabric is chosen not only for its beauty, but also for the joy of creating something meaningful.
Before starting Rex & Bandon, I spent more than 30 years designing and developing home and lifestyle products. Those years taught me that thoughtful design isn't just about how something looks—it's about how it feels to use, how well it's made, and how it becomes part of everyday life. Today, I bring that same care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail into every piece I make by hand.
Animals have always held a special place in my heart. Whenever possible, a portion of every purchase helps support animal rescue efforts and other quiet acts of kindness for animals in need. It's not something I do for recognition. It's simply part of who I am.
Thank you for supporting my small handmade studio.
I hope every package that arrives at your door feels like opening a thoughtful gift.
